Born in South Africa and raised in Germany, Alexander von Dombois designs functional, aesthetically pleasing everyday products with a clear focus on sustainability. With a background in graphic design and a degree in sustainable product design, he brings diverse creative experience to his work. Inspired by traditional craftsmanship and archaeology, he enjoys experimenting with new materials and manufacturing techniques that make his designs unique. He is particularly fascinated by working with wood and metal, which often play a central role in his designs. In addition to working in his Cologne studio, Alexander von Dombois has also worked for renowned design studios such as Gerdesmeyer Krohn and KaschKasch.
